I would like to take a moment to make an unsolicited recommendation of Nancy Whitaker,  She never suggested this letter, it is my own idea.

When my father went through very difficult medical procedures and subsequently died in Norfolk, my mother had to deal with closing out a lifetime's worth of household goods, selling the house and moving to Denver.  During this time, while she was very distressed, we set about trying to find a good Realtor.

I had been a real estate broker myself for 22 years.  Ididn't know any Realtors in Norfolk at all, but I knew that there had to be a really good Realtor there somewhere.

We made appointments to interview 3 people who looked like they might be good.  The first, a person my mother knew, turned out to be competent but not outstanding.  The second, Nancy Whitaker, impresses us immensely.  she was professionally very capable, obviously knowing all the details for what she was doing.  But what impressed us most was that she was sincerely very caring, not trying to fake empathy, as many Realtors tend to do.  On a a personal level, we souldn't help but like her.  We hired her on the spot, even calling the third person to cancel her appointment because we had already found a Realtor who was much better that we had hoped for.

Throughout the transaction, we continued to be impressed.  For many weeks she worked with my mother to plan the sale.  The, as soon as her apartment was ready on short notice in Denver, she quickly put the house up for sale and juggled 3 immediate showings at the same time, resulting in 2 competing offers.  By now my two sisters and I were all at our homes out of state, but we were comfortable knowing my mother was in the hands of a great person that she could trust.  The house sold quickly for more money than any of us had expected.  In a few short weeks, the closing was held while my mother had long since moved to Denver.  We were all extremely pleased.

As a Realtor myself, I know selling a long-term home can be very traumatic, especially in circumstances like my mother's, involving my father's death, a long distance move, and all of her family far away.  But working with Nancy was delightful.  she is so capable that we knew we could be completely confident-that selling the house was not going to be any problem at all.  and Nancy is such a nice person that, if any of us were going to live in the Tidewater area, we would consider her a real friends and look forward to getting to know her better.

I know many Realtors, and I can say with pleasure that Nancy is among the best Realtor and nicest people I have ever known.  I recommend her highly for any real estate transaction.

We want to take this time to thank you so much for all your support and help with us during the search for our new home.  We were out of the area and you communicated with us via phone calls and emails showing us how much you are dedicated at what you do.  At times I know it seemed like we weren't sure what we wanted but you took control, sat us down gave us the 411 about everything, and compiled a list of likes and dislikes for us and that was wonderful.  You were there with us throughout the whole process and even when it was all over.  That in itself is a blessing because we would have been lost without you.  Nancy, you did a superb job!!!  In the future if we decide to purchase another home, will will definitely select you as our only choice.  Thanks again for everything.

I can not thank you enough for all you did for my son, daughter-in-law and their children in finding them a home.  The unpacking is going on and the kids love the neighborhood and of course the new home.

When clients ask me for a referral you are always hoping that everything works out but when your son asks you it is extremely important that the fit is right.  From the minute I talked to you in the Spring I knew you were the right person to work with my son.  I felt like I had known you for a while and knew you would take care of my family.  They were impressed how you helped negotiate the price with the builder and then jumping through all the hoops with which lender to use.  They can not stop signing your praises - you were a miracle worker!!!  Your attention to detail and follow up were fabulous.  They are sure to refer you to anyone they know who is moving in or being transferred out of the area.

You did an outstanding job and if I have any clients moving to the Chesapeake area I will gladly refer them to you.

My parents and I thought your presentation was outstanding and their selection was based solely on your presentation.  You really were much more prepared than the other agents, had a well defined and aggressive marketing plan, and an unmatched enthusiasm at wanting to help my parents sell their property.

My sister called this afternoon and advised that you received an offer.  I'm praying that the offer is good and that my parents can begin the next phase of moving into their new home.  Thank you very much for everything that you are doing for them and maintaining good contact them.

I just pulled into my "dream house" and got your card from the mailbox.  For all of the years that I avoided buying a rea estate or even getting into this, your guidance and professionalism made both of my "deals" so very easy.

My dream house is a three bedroom, 2 car garage, 1.5 bath on a little more than an acre that is reasonably flat with a small brook at the back edge.  There are seven mature trees in the front yard and a large oak and maple bordering the back corners of the house.  The house is about 100 feet from the road which has a farm at the end of the dead end.  From the back deck, one can see the brook with the apple and two locust trees and there is a previous garden, which I will revive in the spring.  The first nights that I spent here, I found it to be so dark until the moon came up.  Hope, the wonder dog, has become very thrilled with the room to run and brook to explore.

I could not be more satisfied with your referral of Jane Falk.  She and you must be cut from the same cloth.  Her understanding of what I wanted and logistics that I had to deal with led to a variety of selections, many of which were truly beautiful homes.  Her mentoring from bid to closing was fantastic.  What few things I really had to do were few, easily handled and well planned.  Her advice and help in getting me settled with as little disruption as possible, again were above and beyond.  Sounds like my Realtor!  If Board of Realtors has a "atta agent" program, let me know how to access it.

Now that I have told you about all that.  I can not thank you enough for the manner in which you have met my needs in the dealings we have had over the last three-four years.  The standard that I measured Jane by was the standard that you set.  For all of the people that I could have gotten to help in the life process, there is not any better.  I listen to other stories about super agents and all I have ever thought is Nancy is better that that, she does this and she does that.  The process is like opening a checking account, not a large dollar ticket item.  So to say that you are just my Real Estate Agent is just not true.  It just so happens that you are a person that is a Real Estate Agent that helps folks find homes and take steps in their lives.  Your approach is thoughtful, creative and has an excellent business edge.  What a combination.  Though separated by more than a few miles, my fist choice will always be Nancy Whitaker.  So, you are more than welcome.  I will keep in touch and to repeat a great friend, have a blessed day.
